Pune: Dynamic MNS Leader Vasant More Resigns, Cites Unfavourable Report on Lok Sabha Candidacy

Pune, 13th March 2024: Vasant More, the dynamic leader of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) from Pune, resigned from the party and held a press conference, levelling serious allegations against MNS officials. During the press conference, More questioned the negative report sent by the party organization in Pune to MNS Chief Raj Thackeray regarding his aspirations for the Lok Sabha. He asserted that despite his two-year-long expression of interest in contesting the Lok Sabha elections, the party sent an unfavourable report, leading him to resign.

More clarified that his resignation was not influenced by offers from other parties and emphasized his commitment to contesting the Lok Sabha elections for the common people of Pune. When journalists questioned the existence of such a report from the Pune organization, More suggested consulting the branch president for details about the atmosphere in Pune on the day Raj Thackeray left the city in anger. Allegations were raised regarding instructions given to the branch president about the unfavourable environment for Raj Thackeray’s Lok Sabha aspirations.

Furthermore, More revealed that his officers are facing threats for their social media posts, alleging intimidation calls at late hours. Without disclosing names, he hinted at the involvement of certain individuals, leaving it to the workers in Pune to identify them.

The press conference also had the presence of NCP (Ajit Pawar) spokesperson Rupali Thombre Patil. When asked about a proposal for spring peacocks, she mentioned submitting her offer to More the previous day. She indicated that More and Ajit Pawar are in direct contact, and any decision on the matter would be made jointly by them.
