Heatwave Hits Pune: Lavale Records Highest Temperature at 40.1 Degrees Celsius

Pune, 13th March 2024: As the heat intensifies across Maharashtra, Pune city is also experiencing elevated temperatures. The average temperature in the city has risen to 37.3 degrees Celsius, with Lavale recording the highest at 40.1 degrees Celsius.

On Tuesday, the temperature readings were as follows: Lavale 40.1 degrees Celsius, Lohegaon 37.8, Magarpatta 37.8, Chinchwad 38.5, Pashan 37.2, and Shivajinagar 37.3 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted dry weather in Pune city and its surrounding areas for the upcoming days, indicating that the temperature is likely to remain high during this period.

Lavale not only recorded the highest maximum temperature but also the highest minimum temperature at 24.1 degrees Celsius. Other minimum temperature recordings include Magarpatta 22.4, Chinchwad 21.8, Koregaon Park 21.4, Balewadi 19.8, Vadgaon Sheri 18.0, Pashan 17.8, Lavasa 17.2, Shivajinagar 16.5, Haveli 16.0, and NDA 15.6 degrees Celsius.

In the rural areas of Pune district, temperatures are also on the rise: Khed 21.0, Purandar 21.0, Bhor 20.2, Ambegaon 19.9, Indapur 19.2, Lonavala 18.1, Rajgurunagar 16.7, Narayangaon 16.5, and Shirur 15.3 degrees Celsius.
