Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Police Raids Illegal Liquor Facility in Maval, Confiscates 20,000 Litres of Illicit Alcohol

Maval, 14th March 2024: In a proactive move against illegal activities, law enforcement authorities demolished a facility involved in the production of country-made liquor in Shirgaon, Maval. Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey has intensified efforts to crack down on such unlawful enterprises.

Acting on intelligence received by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, officers from Shirgaon Police Station raided a site near the Pavana River suspected of producing country-made liquor. Approximately twenty thousand litres of illicit country-made alcohol were confiscated and destroyed during the operation. Deputy Commissioner of Police Bapu Bangar and Police Inspector Digambar Suryavanshi supervised the operation, sending a clear message of zero tolerance towards illegal ventures.

It has been observed that such illicit liquor production often takes place in remote areas with dense vegetation within Shirgaon Police Station limits. Law enforcement has conducted multiple raids targeting these operations, underscoring the necessity for stringent measures against such activities. Deputy Commissioner of Police Bapu Bangar has emphasized that strict actions will continue to be taken against any illegal businesses operating in the region.
