Between April 2023 and February 2024, the Excise Department has been proactive in dealing with offences, especially by implementing good behaviour bonds for individuals involved in two or more offences. During this period, the department sent 442 proposals, and 248 individuals compiled by filling the bonds. However, 41 individuals faced consequences for violating the bond even after obtaining it.
In cases related to the illegal sale of liquor, 203 cases were registered, leading to the arrest of 468 individuals. The court imposed a cumulative monetary penalty of Rs. 5,83,100 on these offenders. Additionally, ten accused faced detentions.

In preparation for the upcoming elections, the State Excise Pune Division has established 13 regular squads and 3 special squads. This proactive approach aims to ensure a fair and law-abiding environment during the electoral period.
As part of their proactive measures, night patrolling will be conducted by the State Excise Pune Division. Stringent action is planned against the influx of liquor from outside the state, especially if it leads to a default in state revenue. Additionally, strict measures will be taken if retail license transactions are not conducted within the prescribed time, and if any objectionable activities are discovered.
