Pune Weather: Punekars Experience Drastic Temperature Fluctuations in Unpredictable Climate

Pune, 16th March 2024: Residents of Pune are grappling with a peculiar weather phenomenon characterized by chilly mornings and scorching afternoons, with temperature differentials of up to 20 degrees Celsius across the district, including the city. The erratic weather pattern, marked by fluctuating extremes, is anticipated to persist amid warnings from the Meteorological Department of potential rain and hailstorms in Vidarbha, further accentuating the contrast between morning and afternoon in Pune.

The clear skies and intense sunshine have resulted in an uptick in sunburn incidents, juxtaposed against relatively humid conditions at night. Morning temperatures hover around 15 degrees Celsius at various locations, while daytime highs soar to approximately 35.4 degrees Celsius, epitomizing the juxtaposition of winter and summer within the span of a single day for Punekars. This atmospheric unpredictability is expected to endure for the next four days, with the Meteorological Department forecasting a marginal uptick in average minimum temperatures.

Rain Alert in Vidarbha –

Parts of Vidarbha, Marathwada, and other regions of the Maharashtra state are experiencing conducive weather conditions, albeit with notable disparities. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for rain, hailstorms, and gusty winds in Nagpur, Bhandara, and Gondia districts of East Vidarbha on Sunday (17th March). Meanwhile, the remainder of the state is anticipated to maintain a predominantly sunny outlook with intermittent cloud cover.

The dissipation of cyclonic wind conditions over North Odisha and adjoining areas has paved the way for a low-pressure belt extending from West Bengal to Andhra Pradesh, as well as from Marathwada to Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to the Comorin region.
