Rhea Chakraborty Cleared by CBI, Pooja Bhatt and Dia Mirza Demand Media Apology

Mumbai, 24th March 2025: On June 14, 2020, the nation was shocked by the tragic death of TV and Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. As the mystery surrounding his death deepened, the case was handed over to the CBI, and actress Rhea Chakraborty was named the prime accused. Sushant’s family accused Rhea of abetting his suicide, embezzling his money, and subjecting him to mental torture.

These serious allegations led to intense media scrutiny and public backlash against Rhea. However, in a recent development, the CBI has filed a closure report, clearing Rhea Chakraborty and her family of all charges.

Following a five-year investigation, Bollywood personalities Pooja Bhatt and Dia Mirza have demanded a written apology from the media for its role in the controversy.

Pooja Bhatt took to social media to reshare a five-year-old tweet by actor Akshay Kumar, which read, “Supreme Court has ordered CBI to investigate Sushant Singh Rajput case. The truth will surely come out. Prayer.”

In her post, Pooja wrote, “The CBI’s closure report dated March 22, 2025, has confirmed the death of Sushant Singh Rajput as suicide, with no conspiracy involved. Rhea Chakraborty and others have been described as innocent. Truth has prevailed. Prayers were accepted.” Both Pooja and Dia have expressed disappointment with the media’s handling of the case and have called for accountability regarding the damage caused to Rhea Chakraborty’s reputation.

Dia Mirza also voiced her support for Rhea Chakraborty, calling for a written apology from those who harassed the actress throughout the investigation. In an Instagram Story, Dia questioned, “Who in the media would dare to tender a written apology to Rhea Chakraborty and her family?” She further criticized the media’s role in the saga, stating, “You only harassed and harassed people for TRP. Apologize. That’s the least you can do.”

The CBI’s closure report has finally put an end to the prolonged controversy, clearing Rhea Chakraborty and others of any wrongdoing in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. The demand for an apology from those involved in the media frenzy underscores the need for responsible journalism. With the truth now revealed, it is hoped that justice and fairness will prevail moving forward.
