RTI Activist Sudhir Alhat And His Accomplices Booked By Pune Police For Rs 50 Lakh Extortion

Kothrud, 21st April 2022: Pune city police have booked RTI activist Sudhir Alhat and his accomplices Archana Samudra, Dinesh Samudra, Jitu Bhau, Anna Jeur and Maneesha Dharne have been booked under IPC 384,385,386, 387, 120B.

Police Sub Inspector Santosh Sonawane had moved the court after his complaint was earlier not registered by the Kothrud police station. He filed a case before the court of judicial magistrate (first class) who ordered the police to register an FIR and investigate the case.

As per the complaint, the accused had demanded Rs 50 lakh from PSI Sonawane. Out of this Sonawne has paid Rs 25 lakh to Samudra. The FIR states that Alhat and others threatened to implicate Sonawane in false cases and ultimately ensure his removal from the police service. Sonwane recorded these conversations and handed over the records to the police.

Further investigation is going on.
