Take Note Of This Change If You Are Flying Out Of Mumbai On May 10
Mumbai, 4th May, 2022: The Mumbai-based Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has established a monsoon contingency plan to deal with any potential delays throughout the season. The two runways — RWY 14/32 & 09/27 — will be closed on May 10, 2022 for pre-monsoon maintenance and repair work as part of this plan.
Concerning this, a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) — a notice carrying critical information for employees involved in flight operations — has been issued.
Between 11:00 a.m. and 17:00 a.m., the road will be closed for six hours. The operations will resume after 17:00 hrs. Passengers flying on the 10th of May should check with their individual airlines for previously scheduled flights, according to the authorities.
The airline said, “The runway closure is a yearly occurrence, and having a backup plan in place would help keep operations running smoothly and protect passenger safety. CSMIA apologises for any trouble this has caused its valued passengers.”
