On Sunday, once again the world’s largest electric car maker Tesla got an invitation to come to India to manufacture cars. Serum Institute owner Adar Poonawalla has advised Musk to come to India and manufacture cars. He said it would be a best investment for Musk. In fact, commenting on Tesla owner Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter stake, Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla on Sunday tagged Tesla owner Elon Musk in a tweet, which is now getting a lot of likes and retweets. In this tweet, Adar Poonawalla tagged Elon Musk and wrote that

“Hey @elonmusk just in case you don’t end up buying @Twitter, do look at investing some of that capital in INDIA for high-quality large-scale manufacturing of @Tesla cars. I assure you this will be the best investment you’ll ever make.”

 

Elon Musk has been looking to start manufacturing and business operations in India for a long time. Musk has been pressuring the Indian government for a long time to give some exemption in tax on his cars. At the same time, the government has categorically refused to make any concession in tax exemption. Elon Musk had raised concerns in August last year, saying that Indian import charges were higher than any other major country in the world, which was affecting the plans of OEMs and that is why there were so many problems in starting a business in India. At the same time, the government says that Tesla should come to India and manufacture the car, and not bring it from another country and sell it in India.
