Thackeray Shiv Sena Faction Register Case Against Shinde Faction MLA For Promoting Violence During Program

Prakash Surve

Mumbai, 16th August 2022: MLA Prakash Surve seems to have embroiled himself in controversies. During the program in the Magathane area of Mumbai on the 14th of August, Prakash Surve said, “If anyone fights with us, he will be answered.” The video of the saying is going viral on social media. The video seemingly promotes violence. The Shiv Sena camp led by Uddhav Thackeray has complained to the police over the rhetoric during an event. For now, the battle between the two groups continues over the control of the party and the symbol (bow-arrow). The matter has reached the Election Commission of India.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi Government in Maharashtra fell after the revolt in June. After this, the Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party Government was formed in the state, following which Shinde was made the Chief Minister. Whereas, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis became the Deputy Chief Minister. Recently there has been a cabinet expansion in the Shinde government. At the same time, portfolios have been allotted to the ministers on Saturday.
