Thane: Minor Injuries and Vehicle Damage Reported in Kalyan Hoarding Collapse Incident
Thane, 2nd August 2024: Two individuals sustained minor injuries when a large hoarding collapsed in the busy Shahjanand Chowk area of Kalyan (West) on Friday morning. Fortunately, while the two people suffered only minor scratches, others in the vicinity managed to move away in time. However, three vehicles were severely damaged in the incident.
The collapse occurred around 10:18 am, when five to six people were standing beneath the hoarding, and an auto-rickshaw was passing by. CCTV footage captured the scene as the hoarding fell, causing those below to flee. Two people, one from the auto and another passing by, were injured, and the three vehicles sustained significant damage. Many people had already moved away before the collapse, avoiding more serious injuries.
Following the incident, Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal staff and fire brigade teams promptly arrived at the scene to clear the debris and address the situation.
