Thane Municipal Corporation Announces Water Cuts Scheduled for April 18-19 Due to Urgent Maintenance

Thane, 16th April 2024: Many areas in Thane will experience water supply disruptions on Thursday, April 18, due to urgent maintenance work scheduled by the civic body. According to the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), areas under its jurisdiction that receive water from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) will face water cuts on Thursday.

The water cut is set to occur from midnight on April 18 to midnight on April 19 in the neighbourhoods of Mumbra, Kalwa, Majiwada, Manpada, and parts of Wagle Estate. The maintenance work involves urgent repairs to the Barvi Gravity Channel from Katai Naka to Sheel Tank, which will result in water cuts across Thane.

An official statement confirmed, “Due to urgent repair work of the Barvi Gravity Channel from Katai Naka to Sheel Tank, the water supply from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation will be halted from midnight on April 18 to midnight on April 19. Water will be cut off in Mumbra, Kalwa, Majiwada, Manpada, and certain parts of Wagle Ward in the Thane Municipal Corporation area for a total of 24 hours.”

List of Affected Areas:
Areas such as Diva, Mumbra (excluding parts of Ward No. 26 and 31), Kalwa Ward Committee under Thane Municipal Corporation, Rupadevi Pada, Kisannagar No 2, Nehrunagar, and Kolshet Khalcha Village under Manpada Ward will face a complete shutdown of water supply.

Residents of the impacted areas have been advised to expect low water pressure for a day or two following the restoration of the water supply.
