Thane Police File Case After Man Duped of Rs 62 Lakh in Investment Scam
Thane, 3rd January 2025: The Thane police have filed a case after a man reported being deceived out of approximately Rs 62 lakh under the pretence of lucrative returns on investment. The victim, an engineer with a private company, claims the fraud took place between September and November.
According to the complainant, a woman named Anaya reached out to him via WhatsApp, offering attractive returns through share trading. Over two months, the man invested Rs 62.39 lakh, as per the complaint.
The man filed a report at the Kalwa police station on Wednesday after realizing there were no returns and his attempts to contact the woman went unanswered. The police are currently investigating the matter.
