Vande Bharat Express Coach Derails at Pune Station; No Injuries Reported

Pune, 27 April 2026: A coach of the Vande Bharat Express 22225 CSMT–Solapur derailed near Pune Railway Station on Monday evening while entering the platform area. No passengers were injured in the incident, and all onboard are reported safe.

According to railway officials, the incident occurred around 7:30 PM when the train was negotiating a diamond crossing within the station yard. The fourth coach of the train went off the tracks after one of its wheels derailed at the crossing.

Officials present at the site confirmed that there were no casualties or injuries. Railway staff and technical teams reached the spot immediately to assess the situation and initiate restoration work.

Arrangements have been made to shift passengers to an alternate rake to ensure that their journey continues with minimal disruption.

Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, Swapnil Nila, stated that one wheel of the Vande Bharat train derailed at the diamond crossing. He added that the crossing is being replaced on priority and similar non-standard diamond crossings across Indian Railways are also being upgraded.

Railway sources indicated that the diamond crossing where the derailment occurred is part of the ongoing Pune Station yard remodeling project, under which track upgrades and replacements have already been scheduled.
