Water Supply To Thane From Barvi Dam Closed On Thursday And Friday

Thane, 4th January 2023: Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) will be shutting down the water supply of certain municipal councils, municipal corporations and industrial areas of Thane district for 24 hours, from Friday the 6th.The MIDC provides water to these areas from the Barvi dam, which will be closed for repair work from the 6th.

The MIDC will undertake maintenance and repair work of the water channel coming out of Barvi Dam and upgrade the water purification centre at Jambhul on Friday. For this reason, the water supply from Barvi Dam and Jambhul Water Purification Center will be closed from 12:00 AM on Thursday to 12:00 AM on Friday.

During this period, water supply to Dombivli MIDC, 27 villages, Ambernath, Additional Ambernath, TTC Industrial Area, Thane Industrial Area, Badlapur Industrial Area, Kalyan Dombivli Municipality, Ulhasnagar, Ambernath Municipality, Navi Mumbai, Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation and various Gram Panchayats in the area will be shut off. Citizens and municipalities should ensure adequate availability of water. Citizens should use water sparingly for two days.
