Pune: Road cave-in shuts Rajgad-Kelad (Madhe Ghat) route until further orders
Pune, 23rd July 2026: The district administration has closed the Rajgad (Velhe)-Kelad Road (Madhe Ghat) to all traffic until further orders after a section of the road caved in due to land subsidence, posing a serious risk to public safety.
District Collector Jitendra Dudi issued the closure order after the road on the road suffered extensive damage, rendering it unsafe for vehicular movement.
The administration has advised residents from Kelad and nearby villages to use the alternative route via Kelad-Nigde Khurd-Kumbale-Chandvane-Bhutonde-Pal Budruk-Vajeghar-Kharov-Rajgad (Velhe) and then proceed towards Pune.
