Palghar Draft Electoral Roll Published Under SIR; Voters Can File Claims Till 30th September

Palghar, 31st August 2026: The draft electoral roll for Maharashtra was published on Monday, 31st August as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) being conducted under the directions of the Election Commission of India.

Palghar District Collector and District Election Officer Dr Indu Rani Jakhar has appealed to voters in the district to check their names and details in the draft electoral roll and verify the entries of all eligible members of their families.

Voters have been given time until September 30 to file claims and objections. The hearing and disposal of claims and objections will be completed by 29th October, after which the final electoral roll will be published on 4th November.

The district administration has advised voters to check their name, father’s or spouse’s name, age or date of birth, gender, photograph, residential address, EPIC number and assigned polling station in the draft roll.

Families have also been urged to specifically verify the entries of senior citizens, people staying away from home for education or employment, migrants and those whose Enumeration Forms were not submitted or whose verification could not be completed during the SIR process.

The district administration has clarified that the draft electoral roll is not the final list. Eligible voters whose names are missing can file a claim for inclusion using Form 6 along with the required documents and declaration.

For corrections related to name, address, age or date of birth, photograph or other electoral details, voters can submit Form 8.

Voters whose names appeared in earlier electoral rolls but were categorised as Absent, Shifted, Dead or Duplicate (ASDD), as well as those whose verification could not be completed, have also been advised to check their status and submit the required forms and documents within the deadline.

The draft electoral roll and voter registration information can be accessed through the Chief Electoral Officer, Maharashtra, the Election Commission of India’s Voters’ Service Portal and the offices of Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs).

Voters can also approach their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for information regarding the electoral roll.

The administration has advised those filing claims or corrections to keep relevant documents related to identity, age or date of birth and residence ready, along with available details from the 2002 electoral roll.

The district administration has urged voters not to wait until the deadline and to verify their electoral details at the earliest so that any omissions or errors can be addressed within the stipulated period.
