About 13,000 Runners Participate In Pune City Marathon

Pune, 3rd March 2024: Tejaswini Lambkhane, Jyoti Gawate, Vandana Singh, Anjali Bhalinge, Sulatha Kamath, Kunal Wagh, Anant Gaonkar, Bhaskar Kamble, Suresh Sharma won the 21 kms races in their categories at the Pune City Marathon in Pune Conceptualised by The Poona Club Ltd in association with Indian Army’s HQ Southern Command.

In the race held today Tejaswini Lambkane(01:20:41sec) won the

8 to 30 Yrs Female , in the 31 to 45 Yrs Female Jyoti Gawate(01:30:26sec) won the race . Vandana Singh won the 46 to 55 Yrs Female category 01:53:03sec), while the 56 to 70 Yrs Female event was won by Anjali Bhalinge(01:56:14sec) , Sulatha Kamath emerged winner in the 71 Yrs Female event completing the race in (03:02:35sec)

In the Men’s 21KM Category in the 18 to 30 Yrs event was won by Kunal Wagh(01:09:14sec) while the 31 to 45 Yrs tournament event was won by Anant Gaonkar(01:10:14sec),

Bhaskar Kamble won the 46 to 55 Yrs event completing the race in (01:18:21sec) while the 56 to 70 Yrs was won by Suresh Sharma(01:30:11sec),

In the 10KM Category Sakshi Jadyal , Aasa TP , Indu Tandon and Durga Sil won the events in their respective divisions

In the men’s 10KM Category Asif Khan , Chandrakant Manwadkar, Gordhan Meena , Charan Singh and Brig Harish Isran won the races in their categories.

In the 5KM Category Aboli Waske and Sadhana Yadav , Aniket Jangle and Rohit Binnar won in their categories

The event is executed by Dorabjee Charitable Trust and endorsed by Pune Municipal Corporation and supported by Income Tax Sports & Recreation Club Pune, Pune Police Maharashtra, Prison Police Maharashtra, Wireless Police Maharashtra,Indian Air Force and Department of Goods and Services Tax Government of Maharashtra.

The Pune City Marathon held today saw 12800 participants in the 3km, 5km, 10km, 21km categories. The 21 kms event was flagged of by Amitabh Gupta, ADG Prison, 10km was flagged of by Reena Jha Tripathi, Principal Commissioner Income Tax, while 5km was flagged of by Lt General Ajay Kumar Singh, GOC in Southern Command and 3km was flagged of by Sunil Ramanand, ADG, Police Wireless, Sunil Handa,President Poona Club, Gaurav Gadhoke, Vice President of Poona Club, Jehangr Dorabji, Shailesh Ranka, Race Director.

Every Participant was awarded a Dry Fit T-shirt, Finisher medal, Sling bag with exciting goodies

The prizes were given away at the hands of Reena Jha Tripathi, Principal Commissioner Income Tax, Indu Dubey DRM of Railways, Sunil Handa,President Poona Club, Gaurav Gadhoke, Vice President of Poona Club, Jehangr Dorabji of Dorabjee charitable trust and Shailesh Ranka, Race Director.
