Mumbai: Water Supply to Kalyan, Dombivli, Titwala to Be Suspended for 8 Hours on Tuesday

Kalyan, 11th May 2025: Water supply to several areas in Kalyan, Dombivli, and Titwala will be suspended for eight hours on Tuesday, May 13, due to maintenance work on a key power line, the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has announced.

The shutdown will affect water supply from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., likely resulting in low pressure the following day. Executive Engineer Ashok Ghude from the KDMC Water Supply Department has urged residents to store enough water in advance.

The interruption is due to repair work on the 22KV NRC-II power feeder by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL). This feeder powers the Mohili Lift Station and two 100-million-litre capacity water treatment plants — one at Mohili and the other at Netivali Hill near Patripula.

The Netivali plant, which supplies water to Dombivli East and West and parts of Kalyan East, will remain shut. The Mohili plant, which caters to Kalyan West, Titwala, Manda, Shad, Ambivali, Atali, Mohne, Jetvan Nagar, and Man Atali, will also be closed during this period.

MSEDCL aims to finish the repairs sooner but has set 5 p.m. as the deadline due to possible technical challenges.

Authorities have appealed for cooperation from citizens and advised them to plan their water usage accordingly.
