Navi Mumbai: Two Stray Dogs Sexually Abused Within 24 Hours in Ulwe; Police Suspect Same Offender
Navi Mumbai, 23rd July 2026: Two shocking incidents involving the sexual abuse of stray dogs within a span of 24 hours have sparked outrage in Ulwe, with police suspecting that the same individual may be responsible for both crimes.
The first incident occurred at around 11:45 p.m. on Sunday (July 19) near a shop shutter close to Siddhivinayak Platinum Building in Sector 23, Ulwe. According to police, an unidentified man, estimated to be between 30 and 35 years of age, allegedly sexually assaulted a stray dog. The incident came to light after a woman advocate witnessed the act and lodged a complaint at Ulwe Police Station.
While the investigation into the first case was underway, a second similar incident was reported at around 4:00 a.m. on Monday (July 20) near a tin shed of J. Kumar Construction in Sector 3, Ulwe. During the investigation, police identified the accused as Manoj Rajendra Ram (35), who allegedly sexually assaulted another stray dog. A case has been registered against him.
Police officials said the striking similarities in the timing, location, and nature of both incidents suggest that the same offender may be involved. However, the accused in the first case remains unidentified, and efforts are underway to trace him.
The disturbing incidents have triggered widespread anger among local residents and animal welfare activists, who have demanded strict action against those responsible. Police have launched a detailed investigation into both cases.
