Pune: Four Stolen Bikes Recovered, Motorcycle Thief Apprehended in Chakan

Pimpri Chinchwad, 7th March 2024: The police successfully apprehended a motorcycle thief during regular working hours, leading to the recovery of four stolen bikes. This operation has unveiled four cases of vehicle theft, including two from Chakan police station, and one each from Dehu Road and Mahalunge MIDC police stations.

The arrested suspect has been identified as Omkar Arvind Pandey, a 20-year-old resident of Talawade.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr Shivaji Pawar, on March 4th, the Chakan police received information about a planned vehicle theft in the Chakan area. Responding to this intelligence, the police strategically set a trap and successfully detained Omkar. During the interrogation, Omkar confessed to stealing four two-wheelers from the jurisdictions of Chakan, Dehu Road, and Mahalunge MIDC police stations. All four stolen vehicles have been recovered by the police, and the Chakan Police are currently conducting further investigations into the matter.

The commendable performance in this operation can be attributed to the dedicated efforts of various police personnel, including Police Inspector BS Narke, Assistant Police Inspector Prasanna Jarad, Sub Inspector Namdev Talwade, Assistant Sub Inspector Suresh Hinge, and several other officers and personnel. Their coordinated actions led to the successful apprehension of the suspect and the recovery of the stolen vehicles.
