256 Thane Residents Died By Suicide In Past Six Months

Thane, 9th January 2023: As many as 585 sudden deaths of citizens have been recorded within the limits of various police stations in the Thane district during the last six months. Among these sudden deaths, as many as 256 are suicides. In this, the number of citizens under 35 years of age is as much as 134. This data is sourced from the office of the sub-divisional magistrate of the Collectorate.

It has been observed that most of these citizens have died by suicide by hanging themselves. The rest died by suicide by jumping from a building, jumping into the water, or consuming poison. Also, out of these suicides, as many as 134 citizens are lesser than 35 years old. The report of the police administration has revealed that these citizens died by suicide due to personal reasons. Also, the investigation of all these sudden deaths is going on, and if the relatives of the deceased want to give any complaint or information, they have been requested by the district administration to visit the sub-divisional magistrate office of Thane Collectorate.

Information has come to light that 20 minors have also died by suicide in the district in the last six months. It has come to light that almost all of these children hung themselves.

Rabale police station has registered the highest number of registrations in the past six months by various police in the district, including Nerul, Rabale MIDC, Kashimira, and Vartak Nagar, along with Miraroad, Chitalsar, Kalwa, Mumbra, and Kapurbavadi police stations.
