Thane: Zilla Parishad Launches WhatsApp Chatbot for Government Services, Schemes and Grievance Redressal

Thane, 7th August 2026: In a move aimed at making government services more accessible, faster and transparent, the Thane Zilla Parishad has launched an official WhatsApp chatbot for citizens. The digital service is integrated with the Thane Doorstep Delivery Portal, enabling residents to access government services, information on welfare schemes, application procedures, required documents, application status and grievance registration directly through WhatsApp.

The chatbot is available on +91 89991 54140 and supports both Marathi and English, making it easy for citizens to use regardless of language preference. It has been designed to provide instant information about services offered by various government departments, eligibility criteria, required documentation, service timelines and contact details, reducing the need for physical visits to government offices.

Deputy Chief Executive Officer (General Administration) Avinash Fadtare said the chatbot will help citizens quickly obtain information about government services, application procedures, required documents, application tracking and other guidance. The service is compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones.

Apart from providing information, the chatbot also allows users to submit suggestions, feedback and grievances. The platform has been integrated with the State Government’s Centralised Chief Minister’s WhatsApp Helpline System, ensuring that complaints are forwarded promptly to the concerned departments for quicker resolution.

The Thane Zilla Parishad has appealed to citizens to save the number +91 89991 54140 and send a message saying “Hi” or “Namaskar” on WhatsApp to start using the service.

Chief Executive Officer Ranjit Yadav said the initiative is an important step towards strengthening citizen-centric governance through technology. He added that the digital platform will help deliver government services more efficiently and ensure that the benefits of various government schemes reach a larger number of citizens.
