CSMT Platform 16 Block Extended Till August 21; Four Mail and Express Trains to Continue Short Termination
Mumbai, 6th August 2026 : Central Railway has extended the ongoing traffic and power block at Platform No. 16 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) till August 21, 2026, in connection with the station redevelopment project being carried out by the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA).
As a result of the extended block, four Mail and Express trains will continue to be short terminated instead of operating up to CSMT.
The trains that will continue to terminate at Dadar are:
Train No. 12810 Howrah–CSMT Express
Train No. 12112 Amravati–CSMT Express
Train No. 22120 Madgaon–CSMT Tejas Express
The train that will continue to terminate at Thane is:
Train No. 12134 Mangaluru–CSMT Express
The block was initially imposed from February 1 to April 26, 2026, and has since been extended multiple times—first till May 19, then June 13, followed by August 5, and has now been further extended till August 21, 2026.
According to Central Railway, foundation layout and infrastructure works at Platforms 16 and 17 are currently underway as part of the CSMT redevelopment project. The traffic and power block has been retained to facilitate these construction activities.
Passengers travelling on the affected trains are advised to take note of the temporary terminal changes while planning their journeys.
