Mumbai: Water Supply To Be Shut Off In Kurla For Nine Saturdays

Kurala, 10th March 2023: Water supply will be stopped every Saturday in the Kurla area for nine weeks. The repair work of the water channel will last for 10 days, and this work will be done every Saturday. Therefore, on March 11, the water supply will be closed for the whole day. The water supply will be shut off in the Kurla area every Saturday till May 6. Therefore, citizens of the Kurla area have been requested to store and use water accordingly.

The water engineering department of the municipality has undertaken the work of strengthening the water channel under Khairani Road in Kurla and between Tukaram Bridge and Jangleshwar Mahadev Temple. As this work will take 10 days, cutting off the water supply for 10 consecutive days will cause inconvenience to the citizens. To avoid inconvenience to citizens, this work will be done in phases on 10 consecutive Fridays and Saturdays. Due to this, the water supply will be completely shut off in some localities of the ‘L’ section every Saturday during the period from Saturday, 4th March 2023 to Saturday, 6th May 2023.

During this period, the citizens of the Kurla area should store enough water every Friday and use water sparingly. At the same time, water engineer Purushottam Malvade has appealed that the water that comes every Sunday should be filtered and boiled as a precautionary measure.
