Navi Mumbai: Potholes Resurface On Newly Constructed Flyover At Roadpali Amid Heavy Rains, Raising Questions Over Quality Construction

Taloja, 22nd July 2023: In response to the numerous potholes plaguing the flyover at Roadpali area, the CIDCO Corporation recently undertook the construction of a bridge, investing a staggering Rs 2 crore in the construction of a new concrete road. Unfortunately, the heavy rainfall that has engulfed the entire state for the past week has caused a resurgence of potholes on this newly constructed road within a few weeks.

As a result, the Taloja Manufacture Association (TMA), an organisation representing local entrepreneurs, has expressed astonishment, stating that it seems as if the two crore rupees from the government have literally gone “down the potholes.”

The flyover, situated in front of Foodland Company, serves as a crucial link between Taloja Industrial Estate and the Roadpali signal. The persisting potholes on both sides of the flyover prompted the CIDCO Corporation to undertake the construction of an entirely new road. During construction, the bridge was kept closed for 25 days for passenger commutes.

Despite the inconvenience caused by the traffic diversions, people remained hopeful that the construction of the new road would alleviate the problem of potholes in the area. However, due to the continuous rainfall in the city, potholes again recurred on the bridge only a few days after the road became operational.

As the issue of potholes is causing fear of accidents among the people, the TMA is now seeking answers from the concerned authorities as they question the durability and quality of the recent road construction.
