Pune, 7th March 2024: Tensions within the Pune BJP have surfaced as a party worker boldly displayed a banner at the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), targeting Murlidhar Mohol, an aspirant for the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

The banner, which was prominently placed at the PMC, conveyed a strong message against Mohol, stating, “Standing (committee post) was given, mayor was given, general secretary was made, Lok Sabha seat also will be given… But now we will get you defeated – hardworking BJP workers.”

This marks the first instance of such public dissent against Mohol, reflecting an internal dispute within the party. The PMC security guards promptly removed the banners, but the incident has already sparked discussions within political circles.

The explicit message on the banner suggests dissatisfaction among certain BJP members, accusing Mohol of acquiring multiple key positions within the party but raising doubts about his candidacy for the Lok Sabha seat.

Mohol, who has been actively involved in party affairs, has not publicly responded to the banners or the allegations made against him. The party, on the other hand, is yet to issue an official statement regarding the internal discord.

This incident comes at a crucial time as political activities are gaining momentum with the approaching Lok Sabha elections. The public display of discontent highlights the challenges the BJP faces in maintaining internal unity and addressing the concerns of its dedicated workers.

As the situation unfolds, political observers are closely watching how the party leadership responds to the internal dispute and whether it will impact Mohol’s candidacy for the Lok Sabha election. The coming days are likely to bring more clarity on the underlying issues within the Pune BJP.
