CBI Initiates Inquiry Against Sameer Wankhede, Allegations of Political Interference Emerge
Mumbai, 22nd May 2023: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched an inquiry against former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) investigation officer Sameer Wankhede, marking the third consecutive day of his interrogation. After completing the session on Sunday, Wankhede emerged from the proceedings stating “Satyamev Jayate,” indicating his commitment to truth.
However, the situation has taken a political turn as Congress state president Nana Patole made serious allegations against Wankhede, suggesting that he could potentially undermine the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Patole’s statement was filled with insinuations, claiming that there are dubious aspects surrounding the CBI investigation into Sameer Wankhede. He implied that there are underlying factors that could jeopardize the BJP and its affiliated organizations. Patole highlighted Wankhede’s visit to the team headquarters and subsequent initiation of the inquiry, connecting it to BJP leaders’ earlier remarks about intervening even if Wankhede’s hair was touched. He also made provocative remarks about the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED), labeling them as “monkeys” of the central government.
Furthermore, Patole raised questions about Wankhede’s meeting with Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), suggesting that something significant occurred during their encounter that led to a shift in the investigation. Patole insinuated that hidden aspects were at play and expressed suspicion surrounding the circumstances.
In relation to seat allocation within the Congress party, Patole emphasized that decisions would be based on merit and the party’s performance. Traditional constituencies would be considered, but Patole noted that some adjustments may be made over time. Committees have been formed to discuss seat allotment based on the merits of each party, ensuring a fair and thorough assessment.
