DRI Seizes Cocaine Worth Rs 40 Crore at Mumbai Airport; Thai Woman Apprehended

Mumbai, 12th January 2024: In a significant operation conducted by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at Mumbai Airport on Friday, a 21-year-old Thai woman was apprehended with cocaine worth Rs 40 crore.

Acting on reliable information, the DRI detained the Thai woman upon her arrival from Addis Ababa. Despite an initial examination yielding no suspicious findings, a more thorough search of her trolley bag revealed multiple packets containing a white powder-like substance.

Subsequent testing confirmed the substance as cocaine, with an estimated international market value of Rs 40 crore.
