Gas Tanker Overturns On Mumbai-Pune Expressway, 3 Persons Killed
Lonavala, 9th May 2022: Three people have been killed in an accident on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway. The tanker was going from Pune to Mumbai. The tanker overturned on the highway and traffic on both sides was stopped.
The driver lost control of the vehicle on the slope near the Khopoli exit and the tanker overturned on Pune lane. The tanker hit some vehicles resulting in the death of the three people around noon today.
Officials launched a rescue operation and relief work is underway under the guidance of Police Inspector Shirish Pawar of Khopoli Police Station.
Fortunately, the gas did not leak from the tanker.
The driver of the gas tanker was also seriously injured in the accident. He has been shifted to a hospital in Pune.
