IMD Issues Red Alert For 24 Hours In Mumbai
Mumbai, 8th July 2022: Heavy rains have started in most parts of the Maharashtra state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rains in some parts of the country in the next five days. A red alert has been issued in Mumbai from noon today (July 8). The red alert has been issued for the next 24 hours from 1.00 pm.
Also, citizens of Mumbai should plan their travel and other matters accordingly. The Municipal Corporation has also appealed to get out of the house only if necessary.
A red alert is issued by the Meteorological Department in case of heavy rains in an area. At such times citizens are advised to stay at home as much as possible. This alert means people should keep themselves and others safe and not go into dangerous areas. Red Alerts also have the potential to cause major damage in a natural disaster.
