KL Rahul Reveals His Batting Order Against South Africa In Absence of Rohit Sharma
Mumbai, 18th January 2022: India’s stand-in ODI captain KL Rahul on Tuesday made it clear that he will open the batting for the team in the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa.
In the virtual conference, KL Rahul said, “Rohit Sharma is not in the team, so I will be the opener of the match.”
When asked about the Test captaincy, KL Rahul stated, “I had not considered it until the name came up. Right now this is what is going on in articles and news.”
He added, “I got the opportunity to hold the captaincy of Team India in Johannesburg Test and it was really special for me. Although the outcome of the match did not go in our favour, it was a great learning experience for me and it will be something that I will always be proud of.”
KL Rahul further said, “It is always special for someone to lead the country and I am no different. Yes, if I am given the captaincy of the Test team, it will be a huge responsibility. It’s quite exciting, I’m not looking forward to anything, I’m just focused on the present.”
