Mumbai: Less Than 10 Thousand New Covid Cases Found For The Second Day

Mumbai, 17th January 2022: There has been a big decline in new cases of coronavirus in the country’s financial capital Mumbai. Today, 5956 new cases of coronavirus were reported in the city. At the same time, 12 more people have died.

With the decline of new cases, the number of active cases in the city has come down to 50,757.

Today is the second day when less than 10 thousand new cases of coronavirus have come to Mumbai. On Sunday, 7895 new cases were found in the city. On 4th January, 10,860 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in the city, while between January 6 and 8, the number of daily infections of coronavirus was above 20 thousand. But since then the daily number of new cases started decreasing.

According to information received by the Health Department of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, “4994 of the new cases reported in the city on Monday did not show any symptoms. While 479 patients have been admitted to the hospital. However, it was a matter of relief that 15561 patients were also cured in the last 24 hours.”

On Sunday, 41,327 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in Maharashtra and 29 more patients died of the disease. The total number of infection cases in the state stood at 72,11,810 and the death toll at 1,41,808. The number of such cases had increased to 932 after eight new cases of the Omicron variant were reported during the day. The death rate related to Covid-19 in the state is 1.96 percent while the recovery rate from the infection is 94.3 percent. Today’s figures are yet to come.
