Lonavala: Robbers Nabbed For Looting Tourists Near Tiger Point, Pune Rural Police Recovers Valuables

Pune, 22nd April 2022: The officials from Pune rural police have nabbed two robbers who looted tourists near the Tiger Point area of Lonavala. Mobile phones and gold chains were seized from them.

The arrested persons have been identified as Sunil Laxman Akhade (23) of Ambavane in Mulshi taluka and Chintan Laxman Pathare (19) of Okalaiwadi in Maval taluka of Pune district.

According to police, Laden Nabi Ahmed Khan (18), a native of  Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, and his friends were chatting on Sahara City Road, when the robbers reached there on a two-wheeler. They threatened the duo with sharp weapons and robbed them of their mobile phones and gold necklaces. Khan then lodged a complaint with the Lonavla Rural Police Station.

After getting a tip-off about the accused, police arrested them. A judicial magistrate court remanded them to police custody till April 25. Police suspect that they might have robbed other tourists also.

The action was taken by a team comprising Lonavla Rural Police Inspector Praveen More, Assistant Inspector Sachin Raul and policemen Vilas Gujar, Kutbuddin Khan, Yuvraj Bansade, Vijay Gale, Kishore Pawar.
