Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena Demands Extended Time for Error Correction in Mumbai University’s Adhisabha Elections

Mumbai University's Adhisabha Elections

Mumbai, 21st May 2023: The University of Mumbai has recently released the provisional voter list for the upcoming Adhisabha elections, along with a list of disqualified applications and their respective reasons. The provisional voter list comprises a total of 113,271 registered graduates, out of which 72,658 applications have been deemed qualified.

Unfortunately, 40,613 graduates did not make it onto the provisional voter list due to non-compliance with the required documentation. In light of this, the Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena has raised concerns and called for an extension of the correction period for these applicants. Currently, graduate voters have until Monday (May 22) to rectify any errors in their applications by visiting the ‘Election 2022’ link on the university’s official website, or by accessing their personal login at https://mu.eduapp.co.in.

However, the Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena believes that the given timeframe is insufficient, and has requested an extension of at least eight days. In a letter addressed to Mumbai University Registrar and Election Decision Officer Prof. Sunil Bhirud, the organization emphasized the necessity of extending the correction period due to the significant number of ineligible applications. They further proposed that the rectification process be made available both online and offline to provide relief and convenience to the students.

This year marks the first time that Mumbai University has implemented online registration for the Adhisabha elections. With a considerable number of applications being deemed ineligible, it becomes imperative to ensure that sufficient time is granted for error rectification.

Sudhakar Tamboli, a former member of the Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena in Mumbai University, stressed the importance of an inclusive and streamlined process that considers the concerns of the students.
