Major Drug Manufacturing Operation Busted in Mumbai’s Charkop; Two Arrested

Malad, 11th January 2024: The Malvani Police of Mumbai have busted a clandestine MD drug manufacturing factory in the Charkop area, seizing goods worth a staggering 1 crore 60 lakh rupees. The operation comes amid heightened scrutiny of drug-related cases, including the prominent Lalit Patil case, making waves in Maharashtra.

The illegal drug manufacturing facility was discovered on the first floor of a hut in a slum area of Charkop. Operated by two highly educated youths, the factory’s operation raised concerns about the extent of drug-related activities infiltrating diverse sections of society.

In response to the operation, Malvani Police arrested two individuals, identified as Abrar Ibrahim Sheikh (30 years) and Moor Alam Mehboob Alam Chaudhary (24 years). The authorities seized a substantial amount of goods valued at one crore sixty lakh rupees during the raid.

While both accused are currently in the custody of the Malvani Police, investigations are ongoing to determine the source and distribution network of the MD drugs. The police are also exploring possible connections to the high-profile Lalit Patil case, seeking to unravel the broader network involved in the illegal drug trade.

In a separate development, Hingoli police conducted a successful operation against drug trafficking. Acting on confidential information, the Hingoli local crime branch raided a farm in Khudnapur Shivara in Basmat taluka, seizing 89 kg of dry ganja.
