Mumbai Airport Takes Precautionary Measures Ahead of Cyclone Biparjoy

Mumbai, 12th June 2023: Mumbai International Airport (CSMIA) has issued an official statement regarding the preparations and measures taken in anticipation of Cyclone Biparjoy.

According to the CSMIA spokesperson, the airport has implemented all necessary precautions as part of its monsoon contingency plan to ensure the safety of operations.

In light of the cyclone, CSMIA is actively monitoring the situation and is ready to activate additional measures if required to address any potential impact caused by adverse weather conditions. The airport management is committed to facilitating safe operations and minimizing any disruptions.
Passengers are advised to stay updated on the status of their flights by contacting their respective airlines directly. This will help them stay informed about any changes or cancellations that may occur due to the inclement weather conditions.

In addition, CSMIA has successfully completed the recarpeting of the secondary runway, 14/32, as per schedule. The runway has been made operational since 10th June 2023, ensuring that both runways are fully functional ahead of the monsoon season. This operational flexibility allows for uninterrupted flight movements even in the presence of crosswinds, underscoring the airport’s commitment to airside safety and efficient flight operations.
