Mumbai: Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal Honoured With ‘Spirit Of Mumbai’ Award
Mumbai, 26th March 2023: South Indian Education Society and Shree Shanmukhanand Fine Art and Sangeet Sabha honoured the Corona warriors of Mumbai with the ‘Spirit of Mumbai’ award on Saturday. On this occasion, Mumbai Municipal Corporation Commissioner and Administrator Iqbal Singh Chahal was honoured with the award by Governor Ramesh Bais.
The program organized by South Indian Education Society and ShrEE Shanmukhanand Fine Art and Music Sabha was attended by the president of the society and the meeting, Dr V. Shankar, former Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission, Dr R. Chidambaram, Vice President of the Institute Dr V. Rangraj, Vice President M. V. Ram Narayan, and other dignitaries.
Assistant Commissioner Kiran Dighavkar serving in Dharavi along with Chahal, Dr Anil Pachnekar, Pascal Saldhana and Dattatray Sawant were given the Corona Yoddha Award. Ghatkopar’s organizations ‘Khana Bhaga’ and ‘Bhajan Samaj’, which have done important work during the Corona period, were also honoured by the Governor.
