Mumbai Contractor Injured in Shooting Near D-Mart, Police Investigate Waste Management Dispute

Mumbai, 3rd January 2025: In a disturbing incident on Friday, two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle allegedly fired 5 to 6 shots in Mumbai, injuring one person. The attack occurred near D-Mart in the Sanpada area of Navi Mumbai. The victim has been identified as Rajaram Thoke, a contractor involved with waste management at the APMC market.

Initial investigations suggest the shooting may be linked to a dispute over the waste management contract. The assailants fled the scene after the attack, according to police reports.

Sanpada police, supported by a forensic team, immediately arrived at the location and began a detailed investigation. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the suspects. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates are expected.
