Mumbai: Increasing Responsiveness To Air-Conditioned Local Trains, More Than 18,000 Tickets Sold In Single Day On Western Railway

Mumbai, 13th October 2022: Western Railway has decided to start 31 more air-conditioned local trains in the new schedule keeping in mind the increasing response of passengers.

Central Railway had to cancel air-conditioned local trains due to the anger of passengers. But despite this, the air-conditioned local train running on the Western Railway has started getting good responses from the passengers. Air-conditioned locals have increased since October 1 and daily ticket sales have also increased. Western Railway officials informed that more than 18 thousand tickets were sold in a single day. Daily ticket sales have increased compared to September.

Western Railway has decided to start 31 more air-conditioned local trains in the new schedule keeping in mind the increasing response of passengers. But instead of 31 rounds of normal local trains, air-conditioned local trains were run. Due to this, there was a suspicion that the passengers would be inconvenienced. But the response of passengers has increased. At present, there are 79 air-conditioned local trains per day. Ticket sales have also increased due to the increase in air-conditioned local trains. On September 1, 12 thousand 663 tickets were sold, while on September 3, 15 thousand 789 tickets were sold. About one to two thousand passes were sold this month.

It increased in October and the highest number of 18 thousand 658 tickets was sold on 2nd October. Western Railway officials informed that more than 17 thousand tickets were sold each on October 10 and 11. The first air-conditioned local train on the Western Railway ran in December 2017. Initially, these local services received little response. But as soon as the ticket price was reduced, the response started increasing. At present, Western Railway has six air-conditioned local trains, and the equipment inside the local trains is arranged under the coach and one more air-conditioned local train of the new design will come into service soon. This local train was being tested for the past several months and is now being planned in the new schedule.
