Mumbai: Man Arrested for Molesting Three Minor Schoolgirls in Kurar
Kurar, 20th July 2023: A 32-year-old man has been apprehended by the police for molesting three minor school-going girls in Kurar. The disturbing incident came to light when an 11-year-old girl resorted to self-harm with a cutter found in her compass box after facing teasing from the accused.
When questioned by her teacher about the self-harm, she bravely disclosed the traumatic encounters. As a result, a case has been filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
The victims, aged between 11 and 12 years, attend secondary school and receive private tutoring. While walking on the road, they were constantly followed by the accused, who would touch their hair and bodies, deceitfully offering them food and money. These incidents had been tormenting the girls since June 2023. The situation reached a critical point when the 11-year-old girl attempted to injure herself with a cutter from her compass box.
Concerned teachers immediately intervened and gained the young girl’s trust, leading her to confide in them about the harassment she and her friends had endured. Recognizing the severity of the matter, the teachers promptly informed the victim girl’s family.
In light of the disturbing revelations, the victim’s mother lodged a complaint with Kurar police. The police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences and Sexual Offences Act. Subsequently, with the help of fellow citizens, the victim’s mother managed to apprehend the accused and brought him to the police station. Authorities confirmed the arrest of the accused, who holds a private job and has no prior record of such offenses.
