Mumbai: Man Stabs Four Neighbours To Death, Injures One
Mumbai, 26th March 2023: According to police, a 54-year-old man allegedly fatally stabbed four of his neighbours in a south Mumbai apartment complex while injuring another.
According to an authority, the horrific occurrence happened at the Parvati Mansion on Grant Road at 3:30 p.m. The suspect was quickly taken into custody, the official added.
The official stated that the man’s wife and children had left him two months prior and that he believed his neighbours were to blame. Since then, he has been experiencing mental instability. On Friday, when he noticed his neighbours, he went to his house, grabbed a knife, and is accused of attacking five members of nearby families.
Two ladies and a couple, Jayendra and Neela Mistry, died while receiving treatment at the civically run Nair hospital after the injured were taken there. Another man is receiving medical attention.
The accused barricaded himself inside a room following the incident. When the police arrived, he resisted leaving but gave in after they threatened to bust the door open, according to the official.
He was detained by police, and they also found the knife that was used in the assault.
He allegedly confessed to the crime while explaining to the authorities that his family had left him upset.
He was psychologically ill, but the official maintained he was not receiving any therapy. An FIR has been registered.
