Mumbai: Police Investigate For Eight Hours Regarding Phone Call To Resident, Confusion Ensues Due To Cross Connection

Mumbai, 8th February 2023: Sarvesh Kumar, a resident of the ISKCON temple area in Juhu, received a phone call from an unknown person discussing the matter while watching the ongoing news about the terror attack. After investigating the matter for eight hours, the police found a lead.

Sarvesh Kumar received a phone call from a stranger saying, “All ready. Main 17 tarikh ko aa raha hu, Yusuf ko mil liya? Shaka Ho Gaya?” The telephone was switched off after that. As he was watching the news about the attack on Mumbai in front of him, he became suspicious and immediately contacted the main control room of Mumbai Police over the phone and informed them about the incident. The police also started an immediate investigation. After eight hours of investigation, it turned out that the phone had been misplaced. The caller wanted to call Bhopal. But the call went to Sarvesh Kumar by mistake. The person on the other end hung up as soon as he realized he has made a wrong call. But Sarvesh Kumar misunderstood his behaviour. However, due to this wrong phone and misunderstanding, the police system started working.

The news of the threatening phone call at the airport was shown on the popular media throughout the day on Tuesday. A person named Irfan Ahmed Sheikh called on the telephone of the airport liaison office on Monday. He had made terrorist and other dubious statements. Due to this, the system at the airport was alerted. An immediate check was carried out at the airport. But no suspicious matter was found in the inspection mission. Sources said that Sahar Police has registered a case under Section 505 (1) against an unidentified person for trying to create terror. In this case, a 27-year-old youth has been detained from Govandi. He took the name Indian Mujahideen after watching the web series. Sarvesh Kumar is said to have received this phone call while watching the same news.
