Mumbai: Police Take Action Against 18 Bars For Flouting Rules

Mumbai, 23rd December 2022: A team of Deputy Commissioner of Police Circle-6 has taken action against 18 bars in Chembur and Govandi areas for violating the rules. All these bars are in the limits of Chembur, Tilaknagar, Nehru Nagar, Chunabhatti and Govandi police stations. Some people have also been arrested in this case.

 

Dance bars have been banned in Maharashtra. However, dance bars are currently running under the pretext of bands. The government has laid down rules and conditions for starting orchestras in bars. The office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police Circle 6 received information that these rules and conditions were being violated in several bars in Chembur and Govandi.

 

Accordingly, the circle 6 team took action against nine bars in Chembur police station limits, four in Tilaknagar police station limits, one in Govandi police station limits, and two each in Nehru Nagar police station and Chunabhatti police station limits. Cases have been registered against some people and some have been arrested.
