Mumbai, 9th November 2021: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Mumbai Police has sought CCTV footage of NCB’s South Mumbai offices. This team is parallel probing the allegations of extortion against the NCB team in the drugs-on-cruise case.
Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood megastar Shahrukh Khan is AN accused in the drugs case.
Sources in Mumbai Police have said that the process of formally asking the NCB to provide the footage has begun. They have sought footage of the dates till the night of October 2, when Aryan Khan and other accused were brought to the NCB office in the drugs case.
“This is to check the movement of Sam D’Souza, KP Gosavi, and Manish Bhanushali inside the NCB office,” an official privy to the development said.
Meanwhile, a high-level meeting was called at the official residence of Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil on Tuesday. Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale and Joint CP Law and Order V Nangre Patil were part of the meeting along with NCP chief Sharad Pawar. Sources said that apart from other developments, the progress of the SIT in the allegations against Sameer Wankhede is also being discussed.
The SIT has already recorded the statement of NCB independent witness Prabhakar Sail, the official said. Sail had claimed that he had heard NCB witness KP Gosavi discussing a payment deal of Rs 25 crore when Aryan Khan was arrested by the NCB in connection with the case. Gosavi was later arrested by the Pune Police in a fraud case.
On Saturday, Bhartiya claimed that Patil, a resident of Dhule in northern Maharashtra, is the mastermind of the entire cruise drugs episode. Bhartiya had also alleged that Patil was associated with several leaders of the ruling Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), including former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.
On Sunday, Patil denied the allegations that he was the “mastermind”.
Talking to a news channel, Patil claimed that the information about the cruise party was passed on by Neeraj Yadav of Bhopal to Manish Bhanushali, the NCB’s witness in the case. He claimed that he is a BJP worker.
