Mumbai: Sixth Arrest in Salman Khan Firing Incident: Harpal Singh Nabbed in Haryana

Mumbai, 14th May 2024: Mumbai Police has made another arrest in connection with the firing incident outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s residence last month. Harpal Singh, a member of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, was apprehended by the Mumbai crime branch in Fatehabad, Haryana, on Monday evening. He is the sixth individual taken into custody concerning the case.

Singh, 34, was brought to Mumbai early Tuesday morning and is scheduled to appear before the court later in the day. His arrest follows the interrogation of Mohammed Rafique Chowdhary, another member of the Bishnoi gang, who was previously arrested in connection with the firing incident. Singh allegedly tasked Chowdhary with conducting surveillance around Khan’s Bandra home and provided him with a sum of Rs 2-3 lakh for this purpose.

Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi, though not directly involved in the firing, have been named in the case. Lawrence Bishnoi is currently incarcerated in Sabarmati Central Prison in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad, while Anmol Bishnoi is believed to be residing in either the US or Canada.

Meanwhile, Devendra Budiya, President of the All India Bishnoi Society, stated that the community may consider forgiving Salman Khan for his involvement in the blackbuck case if he offers a personal apology. Budiya emphasized that Khan should visit the temple, seek forgiveness, and pledge to protect wildlife and preserve the environment in the future. If Khan fulfils these conditions, society may contemplate forgiving him.
