Mumbai, 12th May 2023: Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh has been given a big relief by the Shinde-Fadnavis government. The Maharashtra government has withdrawn all the charges against him and the suspension has also been withdrawn. The then Mahavikas Aghadi government suspended Param Bir Singh in December 2021 following various corruption allegations.

This decision of the Mahavikas Aghadi government has been withdrawn by the Shinde-Fadnavis government. Interestingly, Param Bir Singh retired during the suspension period. Hence, even if the suspension is withdrawn, he cannot rejoin the service.
