Mumbai : Ticket Checking Staff Collected Fine Amount of Rs.1.50 crore in last 6 months
Mumbai, 27 Nov 2020: To ensure no unauthorised passengers travel in trains, Mumbai Division of Central Railway conduct regular, intensive & special ticket checking drives against irregular travel in suburban and special long distance trains. During the intensive, special and regular checks conducted by a team of senior officers and ticket checking staff from June to 20th November 2020, a total 43,526 cases were detected and an amount of Rs.1.50 crore was realized as penalty. Out of 43,526 cases, 39,516 cases were detected in suburban trains with fine of Rs.1.10 crore and 4000 cases were detected in long distance mail exp trains with fine of Rs. 40 lakh.
These 43,516 cases include, 36,754 cases in regular ticket checking drives, 4,616 cases in Intensive and 2,146 cases in special ticket checking drives were detected.
Central Railway appeals to the passengers to travel with proper and valid railway tickets in order to avoid inconvenience and travel with dignity.
