Mumbai: Triton CEO Meets Chief Minister Shinde For Hydrogen-Powered Vehicles Project

Mumbai, 8th December 2022: Positive discussions have been held with the US-based Triton Electric Vehicles Company for large investments in Maharashtra for the project of hydrogen-powered vehicles. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that a memorandum of understanding will be made in this regard in the conference to be held in Davos in January 2023, and all necessary facilities will be provided to this company to start an industry in Maharashtra. The project will be the first of its kind in India.

 

Himanshu Patel, founder and CEO of America’s Triton Electric Vehicles, met Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at his residence. Industry Minister Uday Samant was present too. Triton Electric Vehicles is a company working in the field of electric and hydrogen vehicles. Triton Company has taken the initiative to start a hydrogen project and manufacturing centres of hydrogen-powered vehicles in Maharashtra, and for this, a meeting was held with the Chief Minister to discuss the details.

 

Hydrogen vehicles are more economical than electric vehicles, safer, and also cheaper than CNG and electric vehicles. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that hydrogen vehicles are being used in countries like England, Germany, China, and America. It is possible to run buses on lease from the transport activities of local bodies and run on hydrogen.

 

If the Triton company starts the hydrogen vehicle project in the state, hydrogen manufacturing projects and other industries required for these projects will also start in Maharashtra. This will lead to increased investment and thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities. The Chief Minister said that Triton Company will sign MoU with Maharashtra in the conference to be held in Davos in January 2023, and various options like Pune, Aurangabad, and Nagpur are available for this company to start industry in Maharashtra.
