Mumbai: Young Woman Dies By Suicide Due to Threats and Extortion
Mumbai, 27th April 2023: Mumbai Police have registered a case against Sunny Kushalkar in connection with the suicide of a young woman in Borivali East. The victim’s sister filed a complaint with the Kasturba Marg police that the accused had threatened the deceased and extorted money from her.
On April 3, the victim hanged herself with a saree at her residence. The Kasturba Marg police received a complaint that Sunny had threatened to defame the victim and incited her suicide.
On Wednesday night, the police registered a case under sections 306, 386, and 387 of the IPC. The accused allegedly took Rs. 10,000 from the deceased girl. The police are conducting a further investigation into the case.
